2021 stm TRIPs
God willing, OHC will begin leading STM teams to the beyond. Join us as we pray for God's leading and opening of doors in 2021. As we remain in a season of pause, we encourage you to pray about God's calling on you to go. We also encourage you to complete (or update) your OHC Volunteer Application. In late November 2020, we will post our STM trip planned for 2021.
ARE YOU CALLED TO SERVE on a short term mission team in 2021?
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45)
One of the many ways we encourage the Body of Christ to be disciples who make disciples is through short term missions that produce long term results. On these journeys, you will be following Jesus moment-by-moment as you serve alongside cross-cultural partners and other OHC team members.
These trips are a unique and life-changing opportunity for discipleship, as Max Lucado says: “When you go … something happens. When you touch a wound, or hug an orphan, clean out a school, your life is changed forever. You aren’t the same. You widen your world, deepen your faith, change your way of thinking, and soften your heart. The deepest change on the mission field happens to the missionary.”
Short term mission trips, ranging from one to two weeks in length, are an opportunity to glimpse life outside of your norm, and to be transformed by the experience. They stretch and grow your faith, while providing a practical way for you to share the love of Christ in countries like Guatemala, Nicaragua, Brazil, Haiti, and more. Through each traveler’s open-hearted donation of time and unique skills, countless lives have been touched and seeds of faith planted around the globe.
Mission trips are offered throughout the year in areas including village outreach, adult and children’s ministry, home construction, medical and dental care, and more. Such trips are made possible because of strong relationships with our long term missionaries and partnerships with organizations across the globe.
You do not need experience, fluency in a second language, or a specific professional/vocational background—your spiritual gifts and God-given talents are more than enough for Him to use you. Remember, ”God doesn’t call the equipped; God equips the called.” We invite you to pray about the potential role that only you can fill on a short term mission trip with Oak Hills Church.
