Pat has been on staff at Oak Hills since 1981, following 12 years of mission work among the Maya K'iche' Indians of Guatemala.  During his more than 40 years on staff at Oak Hills, he has consistently been connected to the Hispanic community and has served as the founding pastor of Oak Hills Español, the Spanish congregation. After the passing of his first wife, Carol, he married Adriana Florez, who is an integral partner in his ministry.  He frequently returns to Guatemala to conduct leadership conferences for K'iche' pastors and church leaders. In 2025, he retired as the Lead Pastor of the Spanish congregation, allowing him to devote full time to preparing Bible study materials in Spanish and K'iche' and conducting in-person conferences in Guatemala.
