Jeremiah - Hanging on to Hope in Hard Times | Summer 2024 | Women
Join us this summer as we study the Book of Jeremiah.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 …probably the most well-known verse in the Book of Jeremiah, offers assurance of hope for the future and a subtle reminder that God is in control of our lives. And yet, how do we reconcile the fact that this verse is directed to the Israelites who were captured and exiled to Babylon, a pagan nation, from their home of Judah.
We’ll delve into the book of the prophet, Jeremiah, during this 6-week, summer session. We will seek to understand how his warnings and messages of hope to the people of Judah can apply to our lives as well. We’ll also compare the similarities of life in Jeremiah’s day to the uncertainties and instabilities of our current culture and the world in which we live.
