Trip Focus: Young Adults serving college students, refugees, World Food Bank
Gui and Lorena Schott are full time Brazilian missionaries sent out in 2016 from Refuge of Grace an Oak Hills Church plant in Brazil. They are currently leading YWAM Coventry. Gui states our main focus is to impact our city with the gospel of Jesus. We are reaching out to people and making disciples of every nation, as Coventry is a very multicultural city. We primarily work by reaching out to the refugees in the city through worship services, Alpha courses, Bible studies, Men and Ladies group, Food Hub, Soccer outreach, engaging in interpersonal relationships in community with their lead.
Coventry, England Itinerary:
May 8: A travel day arriving in Coventry around noon on the 8th. We will eat lunch and check into our place of stay. Possible evening soccer time with refugees
May 9: Visit Coventry ministry sites and the College with community service focus
May 10: Morning prayer and worship, College campus service and BBQ with refugee community
May 11: Sunday Mosaic Church, Lunch out, One Family Refugee Church in the evening
May 12: Sightseeing day, Warwick Castle/ Oxford, Team decision where to go
May 13: Warehouse FoodHub preparation, Hotel Daisy asylum seekers, Dinner fellowship
May 14: World Food Hub distribution, small group with refugees, debriefing of team at our facility
May 15: Prepare for travel home
Trip Details:
Total Trip Cost: $2,200 Land Cost: $1,250. All inclusive: meals, lodging, in-country transportation, insurance, bottled water, ministry supplies, etc. Airfare Cost: $950 OHC MUST arrange all Airfare travel.
Place of Stay: The team will stay in Coventry in a large VRBO that will give you opportunities to learn and share from each other along with our hosts.
Trip Orientation/Team Meetings: We will have several Team Meetings prior to our trip. We will provide you with a Team Informational Packet at the first Team Meeting. Team Meetings are required and will focus on building team unity, learning about the ministry, and planning for our service together.
