Baby Blessing for the Journey Fellowship Campus
At Oak Hills Church Journey Fellowship campus we offer an opportunity for families to dedicate and present their children to the Lord with the support of the church body. The purpose of the Baby Blessing Milestone is to encourage and equip parents, and bless our newest babies. The Baby Blessing Ceremony is offered to parents of newborns through age two. Christian parents who dedicate a child are making a promise to be the primary leader in the spiritual formation of their child. They also pledge to encourage them to one day make a decision to trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. They commit to give their child every opportunity and encouragement to develop into the well-rounded Christian individual God intends him or her to be. Some of the responsibilities families commit to include teaching and training the child in God’s Word, providing a model of a Godly life, disciplining according to God’s ways, and praying earnestly for the child. The church body also makes a pledge to support the family and provide partnership and resources as they live out this promise. A special time of prayer and blessing concludes this time of dedication.
Baby blessings are usually held twice a year; dates will vary please see Baby Blessing Application. Families wishing to dedicate their children will be required to attend one meeting with a church leader prior to the dedication service. This meeting will provide families with valuable resources, an introduction to our Children’s Ministry, and an opportunity to connect with other families of young children in our church.

Agape Trail is a Family Milestone for our 5th grade students and their parents. This Milestone includes a special monthly class (September – April) for our 5th grade students providing a series of lessons and activities. The series of lessons affirms and teaches the importance of being a light for Jesus. Students are reminded of the love that comes from Jesus, their parents, and their church. In addition, parents attend a class during the same hour that serves to encourage and equip them in their role as spiritual leaders of their children. The Agape Trail Milestone culminates with a three-day retreat in April that reinforces the teaching and brings students and parents closer together knowing they have the love and support of family and friends.
