Loving Hands Sewing Ministry
Loving Hands Sewing Ministry meets Tuesday mornings from 9:30 a.m. till noon.
Most of the sewing projects made by Loving Hands Sewing Ministry go to the local Hill Country Memorial Hospital, the Home Health department of HCMH, Hospice, Dr.Deleon’s Cancer Center, the Pregnancy Resource Center in Kerrville, and several nursing homes in Fredericksburg. There is one shut -in volunteer who crochets baby bonnets and booties which are donated to the Threads of Love ministry in San Antonio for hospitalized preemie babies. The number of items that the sewing ministry makes has increased to include the following: colorful pillows, “saddle bags” for walkers, pillowcases, baby blankets, ladies warming capes, and activity blankets for Alzheimer patients. All items are sewn with love and filled with prayers. In the prior year, the ministry made and distributed 500 items to the local community. And for this year as of May 2016, over 600 items have been made and distributed.
Anyone interested in joining or donating to this fellowship of women is invited to contact Oak Hills Church 830.990.0402, or Vici Wray 830.669.2293, or Jennifer Petler 830.456.1669. There is always room for another pair of loving hands
