Mike & Nancy Bradford

Born and initially raised in the Sacramento River Delta area in Northern California, I moved to Arkansas at the age of seven, where my mother finished college and received her certification as an elementary teacher. Following a short stint in Missouri, we moved back to California where I completed high school and one year in junior college. I Enlisted in the Air Force at age 19, completed tech school and was given the opportunity to serve as an instructor in aircraft maintenance. While stationed in Illinois, I met my wife, Nancy. She was attending Oklahoma Christian College. We married in 1971 and then moved to a new duty station in Laredo, Texas. Over the years, we moved several times due to my military responsibilities. One of the places we moved to was Lubbock, Texas. While in Lubbock, I had the opportunity to complete my degree at Lubbock Christian College and I was commissioned as a USAF officer.

During these years of serving in the military, Nancy and I were blessed with three sons and a daughter. We are new grandparents. After retiring with 26 years of service, I returned to the Personnel Center as a contractor for several years. Then came an opportunity to join USAA as a business analyst. Now I spend much of the week helping Nancy in her work at the military Base Exchange stores throughout South Central Texas. Somehow I manage to get in a round or two of golf these days.

God has surely blessed our marriage and family. The Lord’s presence and guidance of His Spirit has helped us confront and overcome many challenges. In our many moves and relocation’s, the power and comfort of a fellowship community has continued to be a substantial stabilizing force in our lives. We praise God for what he has done in our family.
