Mark & Debbie LittleStar

Mark & Debbie LittleStar
My story is one of God’s redeeming love. I received the free gift of salvation and trusted Jesus Christ as my savior as a teenager. After several years of walking with and growing in Christ, however, I entered a long season of rebellion and poor choices. For fifteen years I did enjoy some success in my academic and professional life, but the consequences of my sinful life took its toll … a failed marriage, a tumultuous personal life, and an aching emptiness in my soul.
And yet even in my darkest days, I knew the Truth and felt God’s love. I knew He was bidding me to come back to Him, as He had never left me. I had left Him. God poured out His love to me in so many ways even as I was trying to run from Him. In His grace and mercy, He brought my childhood sweetheart, Debbie, back into my life. We married and soon had two beautiful daughters. As a Navy officer stationed in Hawaii with my young family, God surrounded us with other officers and their wives who not only talked about the love of Jesus but showed us Jesus through their actions. It became so obvious to me that Jesus was pursuing me. I could not escape His love. At 32 years of age, on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, I fell in love with Jesus.
Since that time Deb and I have continued to grow in the LORD. We have had the privilege to see and be part of God’s work all over the world. Raising our children and watching them “own” their own faith has been a blessing. Our oldest daughter has been serving as a missionary oversees the last several years and our youngest daughter is living out her faith as a student at Baylor University.
Debbie and I are so pleased to have been part of this Body of Christ for the last 10 years and count it a blessing and an honor to serve in the Oak Hills family.
